Transitional Fall Outfits

All quarantine I’ve dreamt about different events to attend and create outfits around. Still inside months later, I guess I’ll just blog the outfits instead! I joke, “Who knows, I could come out of this 25,” but honestly that doesn’t seem too far off these days. Neutral key pieces, accessories with pearl details, and structured layering items are favorites of mine. For these transitional Fall days with cooler mornings followed by afternoons that warm back up, the following are a few of my favorite go-to outfits. (Or, they will be, next year when life is hopefully more normal.)

Accessories

The pearl-handled picnic basket-inspired purse in the back is me as a bag! And the boho cross-body is chill enough to cruise right into Fall from Summer. Ankle boots and dressier breathable shoes came out from the back of my closet, replacing my Summer sandals and sneakers. From the textures and gradient of neutrals, looking at my Fall 2020 wardrobe makes me feel like I have some semblance of control over the most out of control year ever (lollllll help).

All that glitters ~is~ gold & Classic White Button-Up

I stacked gold necklaces all through Summer, so I’m continuing to do so since it’s not quite cold enough yet for scarves. My favorite addition is a Texas-shaped necklace, my birth state. Little personal details most may miss are my favorite spin on classic outfits, those details you can wear that may start a conversation or hold a meaning only you know about. The tie detail on these jeans adds a little “something” to each outfit I pair it with. And of course you can’t go wrong with a classic white button-up (and now I won’t sweat through it like I did during the Summer)!

That “boss-feeling” Blazer

I love this blazer!! (And dream of wearing it to job interviews once Covid starts to clear up and actually appealing opportunities arise lolll.) Wearing it makes me feel like the business woman I’m 100% set on becoming. Everyone needs “that” blazer in their closet to make you feel professional, in control of your future, but still fashionable. The wide leg pants keep the outfit dressy enough, but gives off a more relaxed feel when paired with a tank underneath (for those non-job interview days).

The ~Coziest~ of Sweaters

I love hair accessories trends, and I think these pearl headbands I see everywhere lately are so cute. An oversized button-up sweater is the perfect go-to transitional Fall clothing item—Comfy, easy to remove if the weather warms, and evokes that charming ~Fall feeling~ that makes you want to put on low-fi music, drink apple cider, and read.

And there you have it—A few simple Fall transitional outfits to share hope for different times and hold onto the opportunities that still hold a sense of normality. From outfits for family functions to layering over my work polo, some of these pieces have seen the light of day outside of my apartment walls. We have all felt challenged this year while adapting to a way of life unlike anything we have experienced before. If anything, I hope we are collectively more empathetic due to Covid-19 and will work to become more cohesive, like the ~coziest~ Fall fit.
